L’éthique n’a pas coutume d’être interrogée par l’imagination. Pourtant, l’hypothèse d’une vie, voire d’une intelligence extraterrestre ne peut être ignorée par l’éthique. Dans ce cas, il ne s’agit pas tant de nous interroger sur les moeurs des possibles extraterrestres, mais plutôt de nous intéresser à l’humain, lorsqu’il est confronté à une possible vie qu’il ne peut pas partager.

Ethics is not usually questioned by the imagination. However, the hypothesis of a life, or even an extraterrestrial intelligence cannot be ignored by ethics. In this case, it is not so much a question of questioning ourselves about the mores of possible extraterrestrials, but rather of taking an interest in the human being, when confronted with a possible life that he cannot share.
