[FORTHCOMING] Cognitive Warfare Index: A Bibliometric Analysis of the Cognitive Warfare Domain

This document presents a bibliometric analysis of a corpus of 187 recent bibliographic sources dedicated to cognitive warfare. By applying an automated semantic classification based on Hoffman’s analytical framework, we identified structural trends in the field of publication. The results show a marked predominance of the informational approach (44.1%) over neuroscientific aspects (14.4%), while revealing an emergence of resilience strategies (16.6%) in recent years. These data suggest that the conceptual domain of cognitive warfare is undergoing a doctrinal transition, moving from theory to defensive operationalization, enabled in part by the reduction of the complexity of the problem to a primarily informational dimension.

Ce document présente une analyse bibliométrique d’un corpus de 187 sources bibliographiques récentes dédiées à la guerre cognitive. En appliquant une classification sémantique automatisée basée sur le cadre analytique de Hoffman, on a identifié des tendances structurantes du domaine de publication. Les résultats montrent une prédominance marquée de l’approche informationnelle (44,9 %) sur les aspects neuroscientifiques (14,4 %), tout en révélant une émergence des stratégies de résilience (14,4 %) sur les dernières années. Ces données suggèrent que le domaine conceptuel de la guerre cognitive est en phase de transition doctrinale, passant de la théorie à l’opérationnalisation défensive, permise en partie par la réduction de la complexité du problème, à une dimension principalement informationnelle.
