ECOPAR - © ISTE Ltd

Aims and scope

Objectifs de la revue

Sharing Economy is intended for researchers, academics and experts interested in this phenomenon, its different applications and its mechanisms, social innovation, entrepreneurship and the development of new business models. The aim is to adopt an interdisciplinary and intersectoral perspective to explore these new dynamics (collaborative finance, contributive production, etc.) that are disrupting, recreating and transforming the processes of production, consumption and value creation.

The purpose of the Sharing Economy Journal is to disseminate in-depth case studies; qualitative and quantitative approaches are also welcome. Particular interest will be given to the context of this economy, its evolution, its mechanisms, the actors involved and/or affected, and the different economic, sociocultural and legal implications. This Journal thus aims to examine the impacts of the sharing economy and its contributions in terms of well-being, employment models and various entrepreneurial opportunities.

The impact of new technologies on the sharing economy: the case of an Algerian start-up
Anis Hamdad, Dr. Lyes Gheddache

In this article, we study the effects of new technologies on the practices of a start-up using sharing platforms. The literature on the sharing economy allows us to consider these new technologies as a means of transforming the practices of the sharing ecosystem. The information is collected through a semi-directive interview with head of the start-up Info Trafic Algérie (ITA). The data were the subject of thematic content analysis. We were able to conclude that new technologies play a decisive role in the evolution of the start-up’s practices, but nevertheless, are not in themselves a factor of sustainability. The existence of a favourable ecosystem is the key to the long-term growth of the start-up.
