Résumé : Since the 19th century, the hives are standardizing, and beekeepers gradually freed from the constraints of manufacturing have lost their knowledge and autonomy in choosing hives. Today, some beekeepers who still have manufacturing and woodworking skills design their hives and work the wood themselves. They are thus voluntarily supporting sustainable beekeeping that is resilient to environmental change. Their original technical choices testify to their desire to rebuild a man-nature relationship by making their own hives. The results of our survey explore the different factors that explain their autonomy: geographical proximity to the resource, localized social network of knowledge and mastery of a know-how signal a true culture of wood. These results also show how these beekeepers think and rebuild links with the living marked by attention and care.
