Nowadays, additive manufacturing technologies are in full development, and are used in several industrial fields: medical, automotive, aeronautics, agriculture. It has a significant number of benefits, including mass reduction, design freedom, waste reduction and rapid prototyping with a wide selection of possible material to use. In this paper, an overview of the different technologies encompassing the term additive manufacturing as well as the different manufacturing materials, including a study on its advantages and disadvantages as a reference point for future research and development.
