TY - Type of reference TI - Factors determining the adoption and complementarity between product and process innovations within formal Senegalese enterprises of the food industry AU - Omar DIOP AU - Babacar NDIAYE AB - This article examines the factors and synergies between product innovations and process innovations. This study used a Bivariate Probit model, calculated based on a sample of 603 formal enterprises in Senegal, excluding the agricultural sector. The only variable jointly affecting the adoption of product and process innovations is the utilization of information and communication technology (ICT), namely through website ownership. The performance and location in Dakar significantly influence exclusively the adoption of product innovations. On the other hand, competitive intensity and northern geographical location exert an exclusive influence on the adoption of process innovations. Nevertheless, a complementarity is observed between the two categories of innovations.
