TY - Type of reference TI - From Interventions to Non-Pharmacological Strategies: Introduction to the Typologies of Health Prevention and Patient Care AU - Estelle Guerry AB - Non-pharmacologic interventions, or NPIs, these non-pharmacologic, non-invasive, targeted and evidence-based interventions, are currently experiencing a significant boom in the field of patient care. This boom is due to the following situation: chronic diseases are on the rise and conventional – drug-based - medicine cannot always meet patients’ needs. Non-pharmacological interventions are therefore part of a climate of social change brought about by the multiple crises of the present and are being used by new ways of thinking in care. The aim is to determine the scope of an NPI or NPS (non-pharmacological strategy) in order to question its limitations and potential for patient care through a theoretical and practical definitional approach that draws on the perspectives of researchers and practitioners.
